The Marketing Manager develops and directs the strategy of all brand, app, and product marketing under Olive Tree’s purview, to meet the needs of our users, growing their engagement and investment in our platform. Further, this role includes leading and directing the Olive Tree Marketing team, as well as participating in the strategic leadership of the Olive Tree business, requiring strong leadership skills, coordination, organization, and team participation.

Olive Tree is a software company located in Spokane, WA. Our company has been developing Bible software for mobile and desktop platforms since the late 1990s. We pride ourselves on providing premium Bible study apps on all the major platforms with access to over 30,000 Christian-based resources, including commentaries, dictionaries, study Bibles, books, audio books, and more.

The Marketing Manager develops and directs the strategy of all brand, app, and product marketing under Olive Tree’s purview, to meet the needs of our users, growing their engagement and investment in our platform. This role also oversees the execution of all areas of the marketing strategy and tactics, including, but not limited to, sales and promotions, email, social media, customer acquisition, and advertising. Further, this role includes leading and directing the Olive Tree Marketing team, as well as participating in the strategic leadership of the Olive Tree business, requiring strong leadership skills, coordination, organization, and team participation.

This position is a remote position, but preference will be given to individuals within driving distance of Spokane.

Essential Duties

• Develop and implement strategy and tactics for smart and effective marketing of Olive Tree platforms and products to existing and prospective customers
• Direct and use data and analytical expertise to drive strategic marketing decisions
• Negotiate and collaborate with publishers to drive jointly profitable promotions
• Direct and oversee all relevant marketing channels, such as: email, web and in-app stores, social media, blog and paid advertising
• Identify market needs and collaborate to develop solutions to meet those needs
• Provide input to other departments to guide priority of marketing- and revenue-impacting activities, such as app design, content production, and e-commerce platform development
• Supervise Marketing staff, leading and directing all marketing efforts to achieve goals
• Participate in the strategic leadership of the Olive Tree business, collaborating to help shape business strategy and tactics, and company culture

Requirements

Experience

4-7 years of experience in marketing, sales, product management, or a related field

Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, leadership, or related field

Skills

• Strong leadership and management of employees and projects
• Able to interpret sales and user data to formulate insightful analysis
• Formulating top-of-funnel strategies to attract and convert new customers
• Proven ability to develop strong professional relationships with colleagues and vendors
• Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties, and/or projects
• Exceptional written and verbal communication
• Must be able to work independently, under deadlines, setting priorities, and problem solving as situations arise

Industry Knowledge

• Creating marketing plans
• Data-driven marketing methodologies
• Broad familiarity with marketing technology platforms, social media, and analytics tools
• Top-of-funnel marketing and advertising techniques
• Familiarity with Christian non-fiction resources, especially as relates to Bible study, for church, academic, and laity audiences
• Familiarity with theological terms and how they relate to different books is a plus
