현재 한국 주요 교단을 비롯한 대부분의 개신교 교회에서 「개역한글판」의 뒤를 이어서 예배용 성경으로 사용하고 있다. 전통적인 「개역한글판」의 번역 원칙을 그대로 유지한 개정 번역이다.

The New Korean Revised Version was published in 1998, and is the authorized liturgical Bible in most Korean Protestant denominations. Commissioned by 17 denominations, it is the result of 15 years of work by scholars, and includes feedback from more than 1,600 church leaders in Korea.

This revision maintains the style and characteristics of the Korean Revised Version, but provides clear understanding to contemporary readers. Revisions were limited to passages where meaning was unclear, where outdated, archaic or difficult words were in use, or where words were not in accord with new orthographic principles.
