개신교 교회 학생들이 성경을 쉽게 이해하기 위해 번역한 성경으로 예배용 성경인 ‘성경전서 개역개정판’과 비교해서 읽혀지고 있다. “형식일치의 번역”과 “의미의 동등성 번역”의 중간 노선을 따라 번역하였다.

With a goal to produce a contemporary language Bible translation that can be used for both liturgy and church education, the Revised New Korean Standard Version was created. Ten years of work have produced a translation that adopts the best features (and avoids the worst drawbacks) of both the literal and dynamic translation philosophies.
