Description

The Legacy Standard Bible (LSB) iterates, preserves and refines the work incorporated into the classic 1995 NASB translation, as well as the KJV and ASV translations that preceeded it. Worked on by a core translation team in conjunction with pastors and educators from different countries, the LSB it is designed to honor, maintain, and advance the tradition represented by these great and time-honored translations.

Leaders from The Lockman Foundation, Three Sixteen Publishing, and The John MacArthur Charitable Trust joined together with a twofold vision for the Legacy Standard Bible: updating some of the language of the NASB, while preserving the accuracy and trustworthiness of the translation for generations to come.

At its core the LSB seeks to be a window into the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. By translating individual words as consistently as possible within their various nuances, it allows the reader to discern the Author’s intent. In this way, the refinements in the LSB also preserve the legacy of the NASB.
